The pacific coast....uprising beach resort....

After our long trek in the jungle arriving in uprising beach resort which was on the pacific coast was just what we needed !
It was a really beautiful resort and as we had booked our own room, we were given a beachfront bure pronounced buray! & it was the most beautiful thing we have ever stayed in, it was right on the beachfront and a lovely room it was huge with 2 beds, a fridge, a kettle, sofas the lot! It was very us !

....and it had a lovely ourdoor shower :)

We very quickly settled in here had a lovely shower then went out to explore! The pool area was lovely it had big round chairs with cushions on, 2 person loungers and bean bags scattered around for you to sit on! We had a quick look at the dinner menu but it was super expensive like $40-$60 a meal! We asked reception where the supermarket was as we needed to get some water and it was just 10 minutes up the road so we headed out of the resort and found the supermarket as well as, atm, post office and some restaurants! We checked out the menus and decided to eat at a place called "oasis restaurant" the meals were from $10-$25! A lot cheaper & more variety! We decided to eat there and the food was lovely we had tuna toasted sandwiches with chips and salad & the best salad dressing we have ever had! It was like a butter sauce! We headed back our stomachs fully satisfied for once!! And settled in our bure for the night for tomorrow we move to the mini dorm! We fell asleep to the sound of the waves :) i felt a little ill that night i think i caught a bit of sun stroke from our jungle trek :(
....some of our meals from oasis restaurant :)

We had a really good nights sleep! And woke up to a lovely view of the sea it was so nice :) we went for breaky and moved our stuff to our dorm, we didnt want to leave this lovely room but it was so much more expensive then the dorm we couldnt really justify it, however when we got to the dorm it was a garden bure the same as our other one but it had 4 bunks in it ! So it was nice! After putting our stuff in we decided to go fishing for the day over at some rocks luke had seen on the way to the resort, we walked along the beach it took around 30 minutes, when we arrived we found a spot right on the end of the rocks and got settled. It was a lovely view, it was a overcast day but still hot just the right temp actually we were here for around 5 hours before we decided to head back and get ready for dinner we didnt catch anything which was frustrating for luke as he saw loads of big ones, we enjoyed the day tho as we hadn't been fishing for the day for a few weeks so it was nice :)
We went back to the same restaurant that night and i had a fish burger which was so nice it was a big fish fillet and luke had a steak and onion burger.... again we felt very full :) probly because we also had cheesy garlic bread to start which was the best cheesey garlic bread we had ever had!!
....it was amazing :)

A good end to a good day! We had 3 others in the dorm that night a english guy (who absolutely loved talking about himself!) and an older asian couple.... like 60+ ! We found it so odd that couples this age stayed in dorms! Anyway they invited another friend over and proceded to have a lovely asisn conversation! I turned all the lights to dim as we wanted to watch only fools and go to sleep, and when they eventually went to bed they wanted to turn the fan off! Can you imagine how hot it was 30 degrees plus and they wanted the fan off!! And the lady couldnt understand english so that was fun saying "no its to hot"! Anyway it stayed on until they decided to turn it off at 4am when i proceded to pretty much get up straight after they turned it off to turn it on again ! let me tell you me and luke hate the cold so it defo wasnt cold in there! Its better to be cold and to wrap up then to be to hot and not be able to do anything about it! If you want to stay in a dorm at that age then you have to remember others are in there aswell, this asian couple were sleeping in there clothes aswell i have no idea how they were cold! Anyway they left early so at least we wouldn't have that drama tonight!

This was our last full day here at uprising so we grabbed some beanbags and headed to the beach luke had a little fish and then we relaxed, i wrote some postcards we had bought from a local shop and we had a swim :) it was a lovely day we met some of the feejee experience group we would be joining the next day and had a chat to a couple of girls from jersey ! Which was odd as in all of our travels we hadnt met anyone from jersey! (For anyone that doesnt no me i have family in jersey so its also nice and interesting to meet people from there !) we told them about the restaurants up the road as they also thought food here was expensive! And at about 4 we headed back to get ready for dinner we were off to the same restaurant for our last meal we quickly got ready and then before we left had to listen to this guy in our room yap on! We had also realised that not only does he talk about himself but he bullshits aswell! So he was a delight to talk to!! We had another good meal followed by a nicewalk back along the beach :) and there was a lovely sunset both tonight and last night the sunset had been stunning :) we had to pack so just had a cup of tea and chilled :)
....the lovely pool area at uprising beach resort :)
....chilling on the bean bags, fishing & thhe lovely sunset

The next day we were leaving at 8am, we met the rest of our group they were all really nice people and the whole bus was full! We had doctors, teachers, post grads and many others so it was a lovely group and our next guide jerry and driver were great to :)

We were sad to be leaving uprising it had been a great stay :) and we really wanted to return :) but for now we were off to a traditional fijisn village for a kava ceremony, a trip to a local school and bamboo rafting :)
