Coffs Harbour :)

So I thought the drive to Coffs Harbour was 1 hour but Infact It was 3 hours! We got to ur hostel at around 17.00, we as in a four bedded shared dorm this time and when we arrived we were pleased as there was a fan in the room! It was still bloody hot tho! They was another couple staying in there .... Coral & Elliot .....around the same age so we chatting to them for ages :)

We decided at around 6pm to go and explore as it was a little cooler in the evening, not much but a bit more bearable! we walked along the international marina where we saw loads of fishing boats and the local fish and chip shop was packed with people wanting to buy fresh wish that had been caught that day! All of the fishing boats were really lovely we just stood there admiring them and dreaming one day we could have one! Remember what Walt disney said "this whole thing started with a dream......" So you never no !!

We took a walk to mutton bird island which was a nature reserve and also a Whale watching point,we walked up that and to the look out point but we didn't see any whales maybe another day :)

And not he way back we spotted a lovely black lab ! Obviously that needed a stroke and cuddle from me! It even got a kiss!.....

We decided to return after our walk and cook some dinner and also lunch for the next day as we would probably be going to the beach and would take a pack lunch to save the penny's :) the we was. So tired we went up to our room to rest, and then sat up talking coral and Elliot until about midnight, swapping travelling stories! They told us there was a shark attack here 4 weeks ago! So I don't think we will be swimming just paddling!

We had a relatively good nights sleep it was hot but bearable,but by the morning it was sweaty! I had to get up and go for breakfast just to get out of there! Luke joined me soon after we were deciding what to do with our day.....it was more then likely going to be the beach !

So off we went to our nearest beach which was "jetty beach" in Coffs Harbour it was only around 300 yards from our hostel! So off we went ! Sun was blazing.......we found a spot right in front of the sea it was busy but not heaving ...

......we pretty much went straight in, the water was war it was quite nice to go and have a swim to cool off! We didn't go in to far obviously ! We always made sure there were people in front of us! Just in case! And everytime I got to my shoulders Luke was shouting "babe....don't go any further!" It's odd how the locals don't even think about sharks but it's on our minds constantly! 

We spent the whole day there ...watching people jumping off the jetty, body boarding which we wanted to do tomorrow and just people watching generally! The funniest thing was when we were listening to a few family's who were talking about he weather tomorrow! They were saying " we won't Be able to come to the beach tomorrow it's suppose to be freezing ......23 degrees!" We literally burst Into laughter! We couldn't imagine it being freezing! We really enjoyed our day at the beach, we packed a pack lunch and spent no money at all! We applied sun cream all through the day aswell ! We thought we had got away with not getting burnt! Luke got away with it but I realised later in the evening that I had burnt my back a little! It wasn't bad not like I usually get burnt ! But i was still annoyed  as I really tryed this time not to get burnt! We headed back around 4pm and decided we would get the bus into to local shopping mall, one because  we needed to get a few bits from the supermarket and I wanted to look in target for something for Millie and two because we want edit to use there free wifi! So that's what we did with our evening!

On returning Luke decided he was going to have good old beans on toast! And I couldn't have them unfortunately as they do not agree with my tummy :( I really miss baked beans ! They were my fave :( 

We sat outside with Elliot and coral for the rest of the evening just chatting they were leaving the next day early to go to byron bay.

The next day it was raining! We couldn't believe it i really wanted to get the body boards and go for a swim but unfortunately it rained all day and we couldn't go to the beach :( it wasn't cold just rainy, so we went for a walk along to the jetty and marina and used there free wifi ! We had more research and booking to do we only got it for an hours so could really do much :( we then treated ourselves to fish and chips just one portion to share to save our penny's! And it was really nice.....we had ten pieces of whiting and chips :) we then continued to go through our pics  and film erasing stuff we didn't need, Luke played with his fishing rod and made a rig or two for it! We had a nice afternoon and decided we would also put our. to refrigerated food in our day bags to save carrying an extra bag!

We decided  we would still make a dinner mostly so we could have it for lunch the next day as we were due to leave at 5.50 and would miss breaky ! So we made rice sticks with cubed potato and carrots, red onion and mushroom in a veggie tomato red wine sauce! With cheese! It was so tasty!.....

 .....with our lunch all ready we spent the evening playing games on the ipad and just reflecting on our trip! Something we do a lot! 

Tomorrow we go to byron bay :)))
