Bringing in the new year ........ In SYDNEY !!!

So this years New Year's Eve was going to be one of our best yet! We knew that before we even got to New Year's Eve! Sydney is one of the first places to bring in the new year and everyone (Well most people!) watch it on tv it's one of the best.....fireworks over the opera house, fireworks coming off the Sydney harbour bridge, fireworks just behind the harbour bridge loads of parties, loads going on its one of the best and was definitely on our bucket list of things to do!

So months ago I had stayed up until god knows time to get ready to book this particular hostel overlooking the harbour that also has a New Year's Eve party on there terrace the bookings were being taken at 9am there time so had to get in quick as I knew it would sell out very quickly! I tried so hard to book it but the site kept crashing due to the amount of people trying to book it! So eventually they sent a message saying send an email with what room you want number of nights etc so that's what I did and hoped for the best! Te next day we got a message saying that we had got our room! And NYE tickets! We were so pleased! Perfect location for us and a NYE party! The ozzies tried to book aswell. It it was sold out which was a shame, it sold out within a matter of hours we were lucky.

So anyway having arrived at our hostel for New Years, our room was lovely much better then we thought, we had a double ensuite, we were also given a room with a view of the opera house and bridge! What a perfect room! Days went by very quick and before we knew it NYE was here.

We got ourselves ready and glammed up! And headed up to the terrace at around 7pm just I time for food! A huge tray of pizzas went past my face going up to the terrace that had my name written all over them! This terrace that the party was on was huge and had the best view perfect for a NYE party, it was a fully catered for event with food and drink flowing all night! It was also ticket only and had security everywhere! What was nice about the party was that they hadn't gone overboard on selling tickets so it wasn't over crowded ......perfect.....

.....perfect view :)

We got ourselves a drink and some food and found a seat! It was great just sitting there watching the world go by and people watching :) we took some funny pics with some props we and they had....

We had free wine, beer and soft drinks and the food was really good better then what we expected we were told it was only finger food but they did a whole host of things -
Pizza's, curry veg and chicken with rice, spaghetti Bol all in little boxes, hot dogs, chicken, lamb and prawn skewers, some other things on skewers, fruit on skewers and crisps and sweets! It was really good and the food came out all night until midnight !
.......vegi curry and rice :) it was scrummy!

We took in the views watching people turn up in there thousands, places were getting more and more busy the roads below us were heaving  we could see the area around the opera house was getting more and more busy, we had defo made the right decision to stay here and go to this party!

At 21.30 there was a show for the kids, a firework display on a smaller scale then The midnight one and it was really good :) ....
 So spectacular :)

The 21.30 showing of fireworks was so good we couldn't wait for the midnight ones! Anyway the drinks were flowing and me and Luke were sitting for about two hours just chatting away! Talking about our trip and our adventure in Australia ! Before we knew it it was 23.30 we got up to get a good view of  the opera house and bridge, there weren't many people but we wanted a good view ! And we got one!

There wasn't really a real countdown coming up to midnight we were all watching the clock tower In front of us ! There was a countdown when it got to 5 seconds ! But we were so excited we wasn't really paying attention to the countdown and then Suddenly the fireworks started they went off in all directions and it was just the most amazing moment ! I found it quite emotional ! It was so nice me and Luke experienced this together what a memory :) the fireworks went on for ten minutes and were the best ones we had ever seen, they were just so pretty so colourful and just perfect! The fireworks and the display coming off the bridge was outstanding you just didn't know were to look! ...

.....this show was so spectacular it's hard to explain and put it into words :)

We went to bed shortly after we was so tired ! But we were blown away by the show, the beauty of it all, it was just magical :)) we cannot wait for all the adventures 2014 is going to bring us, all we know is our bucket list is getting bigger and bigger and so is the list of "we want to come back here" ! Life is such an adventure to us and we are so glad we have each other to make memories with and share it together.

Happy new year everyone.....
